Author Biography

Mary Vee Storyteller of Indelible Tales

Mary Vee lives in the North Country. She is an avid reader and writer. She was the first in her family to graduate from college, but not the last. Mary married an Air Force vet. They moved to affordable housing in the inner city. Life took them to Honduras, where she worked with mountain people in cartel country, and Montana, where she served as a caseworker for homeless and low-income Crow and Blackfeet peoples. For a time, they lived on an island in Lake Huron. Life had only begun.

Mary and her husband enjoy traveling around the world, visiting Israel, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, France, England, Germany, Argentina, Honduras, Mexico, Chile, and more. She has met amazing people, experienced new cultures, ate new foods, and learned bits of languages, Did you know water really goes down the drain counterclockwise in South America? Next on her travel list are the Amazon and Nile Rivers.

When not writing, she enjoys rock climbing, white-water rafting, and hiking with hubby. For some crazy reason, her characters don’t always appreciate the dangerous and often scary side of some activities.

Her suspenseful short stories are published in Guideposts books, and several articles are in anthologies and magazines. Her book Daring to Live was a finalist in the International Indie Book Excellence Writers Award and the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writers Selah Contest.

A perpetual student, she is a student in the Master of Fine Arts program focusing on storytelling, and is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers; attends annual conferences, speaks at workshops, judges writing contests, and is a writing mentor. She leads an online national writers’ critique group and a local writers’ group, nurturing and encouraging writers wherever they are on their journey.

Mary lives in a small home surrounded by woods with her hubby and a cat that feels the need to feed his humans with daily mouse offerings, decapitated, of course.

Global Story Times

I have been blessed to travel many places in the world, making friends, learning new bits of languages, experiencing new foods and enjoying new cultures. There are many more I long to explore and include in my stories.
